A Good Time Had by All

For the first time in probably forever, 90 percent of the media that covers this industry met for dinner the first night of ASIS.
Hey, we don't make enough money to pay for a dinner like this ourselves. And our gracious host, LRG Communications picked up the tab.
First and foremost, my appreciation to Vince Galdi and his staff, for all that they do to make the security industry alive and viable. It's not an easy job fulfilling all the needs of several editors and their coworkers. LRG makes it happen.
I certainly can't and don't speak for the security industry editors, but I think it's safe to say we are treated royally by this professional team of PR flaks (that's what we like to call them, flaks).
All of us in this business work with several PR firms and teams, and we appreciate all their efforts. It truly takes a miracle to meet all the goals and objectives each month, but thanks to the PR teams, we're able to do this.
As for the opening day of ASIS 2011, foot traffic seemed down a little bit though many exhibitors I visited with were busy most of the day. And by the end of the day, most were weary and ready for an evening's rest.
I'm anxious for day two. For me, it's always the most exciting day of the show and traffic seems to peak. There are many interesting products, upgrades to existing versions, and waves of excited exhibitors.
After a night of good food, and good friends, I hope you'll join me at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
